What is holistic interior design?

Holistic interior design is an approach to interior design that takes into consideration the health and well-being of the people who live in the space, as well as the impact of the environment on the planet. It aims to create a space that supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the people who inhabit it, while also taking into account the environmental impact of the materials and design choices.

Holistic interior design considers not just the aesthetics of a space, but also the functionality and the effects of the design on the body, mind, and soul. It takes into account the energy flow, lighting, and colour of a space to create a harmonious and balanced environment that promotes well-being and productivity.

When designing a space holistically, I will consider factors such as the quality of air and natural light, the use of natural and sustainable materials, and the use of lighting to enhance circadian rhythms and reduce stress. It´s possible that I might also incorporate elements such as plants, essential oils, natural fabrics and even tech to create a sense of calm.

In holistic interior design, the space is seen as a whole, interconnected system, and every element of the design is considered in relation to the others. The goal is to create a space that feels balanced and harmonious, and that promotes the health and well-being of the people who live in it.

Overall, holistic interior design is an approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of all things and aims to create a space that supports the well-being of the people who inhabit it, while also taking into account the impact on the environment. It is an approach that values sustainability, health, and harmony, and that recognizes the important role that the built environment plays in our overall well-being.
